In quite possibly the best showing in the history of Burlington County softball, 11 of its teams have advanced to Wednesday’s NJSIAA sectional semifinals.

What’s more, there is a very good possibility of at least one all-Burlco final on Saturday.

In Central Jersey Group II, surging Bordentown (13-8) will be at Governor Livingston (19-6) and Delran (20-7) will host Wall (16-7).

The defending champion, Bordentown is fresh off its 9-2 destruction of top-seeded Metuchen. Governor Livingston has beaten some quality teams such as Immaculata, but if the Scotties continue to swing the bats they have a great chance to advance. Ditto for Delran (20-4), which has beaten Bordentown twice and has won 10 in a row.

In C.J. I, Riverside (11-9) will be at New Egypt (12-7)  and Florence (11-8) will travel to top-seeded Middlesex (15-9). Florence and New Egypt split their first two games and it’s easy to envision them playing for a third time.

There are also two brackets in South Jersey with two Burlington County teams.

One is in S.J. Group III where Shawnee (14-9) will at top-seeded Ocean City (20-8) and second-seeded Moorestown (20-4) will host Delsea (17-7).  The other is S.J. IV in which Cherokee (19-4) will travel to top seeded Egg Harbor (23-1) and Lenape (22-6) will host Kingsway (16-9).

Also on Wednesday, Northern Burlington (14-10) will be on the road at Jackson Memorial (23-2) in C.J. Group IV and Cinnaminson (20-4) will host Cedar Creek in S.J. Group II.

Jackson Memorial beat Northern Burlington, 3-1, in a semifinal game last year, but NBC appears to be back in top form and has received two straight shutouts by capable sophomore righty Mikayla Fontana.
