Help is on the way for the New York Yankees.

The New York Daily News reports the Yankees “expect” to have Gold Glove Award-winning outfielder Harrison Bader in uniform Tuesday when they open a two-game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates at Yankee Stadium.

“I don’t want to say definitely, but that’s the way it’s looking,” manager Aaron Boone said. “If he gets through (Sunday), he will likely be in there Tuesday.”

The Yankees acquired the 28-year-old Bader ahead of the Aug. 2 trade deadline in the deal which sent left-hander Jordan Montgomery to the St. Louis Cardinals.

At the time, Bader was sidelined by plantar fasciitis in his right foot. But Bader appears fully recovered, following a rehab assignment last week with the Double-A Somerset Patriots. In six games with the Patriots, Bader hit .286 with one home run and four RBI.

Bader’s arrival in the Bronx figures to pretty much eliminate the possibility of Aaron Hicks getting any serious playing time during the stretch run. Hicks is hitting just .213 this season.

St. Louis selected Bader, who played his college ball at University of Florida, in the third round of the 2015 MLB Draft.

Bader, a Bronxville, N.Y. native, slashed .256/.303/.370 with 35 runs, 63 hits, five home runs and 21 RBIs in 72 games this season before landing on the injured list with the Cardinals.

Over parts of six MLB seasons with the Cardinals (2017-22), Bader has hit .246 with 52 home runs in 523 games.
