“Throughout the season last year, I realized some of the mistakes that I made,” Krol stated. “I think my periodization (training) was off last cross-country season. Earlier in the season, I was feeling a lot better than I did at the end. I’m not going to let it happen again. So this season, I kind of feel tough and rough at the moment. But by the end, I know I will be in my best shape this year.”

In his first 5,000-meter showcase occasion of the season, Krol got here in first place within the Herb Lorenz Gold race Friday on the South Jersey Shootout on the Delaware River Equestrian, Agriculture and Marine (DREAM) Park in Logan Township.

Krol completed first in 16:09.84 for the primary gold medal of his scholastic profession.

“I came out here, and honestly, I was pretty much going to the win since I started doing this race a while back,” Krol stated. “I feel happy with (the win), but I was looking for the time a little bit. I am hoping to break our school record (15:38 by Paul Szulewski in 2011).

“On top of that, I am just looking to push everybody that comes out here. I want to make people feel the hurting. That’s kind of how I am. I know I am hurting during the races. I want to make everyone come and feel that too. I don’t want to make it easy for anybody.”
