A Kearny man was stabbed to death early Tuesday morning, the town’s first homicide in two years.
The 34-year-old man, identified as Corey McFadden, was found on the ground in the area of Belgrove Drive and Afton Street by police at 5:45 a.m. after a 9-1-1 call alerted them, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
Officers found McFadden had multiple apparent stab wounds to the lower body. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:20 a.m. and the cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
