TRENTON –The City’s Division of Economic Development and the Department of Recreation, Natural Resources, and Culture will host numerous events celebrating local businesses Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
“Our local businesses are so critical: They create jobs, they provide amazing goods and services, and they are so culturally rich. Shop Trenton Saturdays highlight culture in Trenton. I encourage those within and outside of Trenton to come downtown for a great day of food, music, and art,” Mayor Reed Gusciora said in a statement.
The following events will kick off the first Shop Trenton Saturday:
The Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market, highlighting more than 450 arts and small businesses, will take place at Cure Arena, located at 81 Hamilton Ave, at 10 a.m.
Trenton Orbit will have lunch at 1911 Smoke House Barbeque at 12 p.m.
Will Yesterday will perform music at 12 p.m. at The Big Easy, located at 111 S. Warren Street.
In the afternoon, you can listen to jazz music with Radam Schwartz at 3 p.m. at the Candlelight Lounge, located at 24 Passaic Street.
The full list of events for the first Shop Trenton Saturday can be found on the City’s website. Free parking can be found at the Liberty Commons Garage, which is located at 16 E. Front Street from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday.
“I and the rest of the City Council are always happy to encourage our fellow -s to shop local. Continuing to support our local businesses will help the City and community thrive,” South Ward Councilwoman Jenna Figueroa Kettenburg said.
