TRENTON – Unless you’ve been under a rock, you’ve probably noticed the thick layer of smoke that has consumed much of the North Eastern coast. New York and New Jersey have been hit the hardest with skies in both states turning an eerie orange tint.  Because of this, the air quality has dropped in both states, deeming outside activities unsafe.

To keep residents as safe as possible, the City has decided to postpone two events scheduled for Thursday. The first was a press conference to announce the demolition of a former commercial building on a contaminated site. The second was this week’s council meeting a City Hall, which has been rescheduled to next Tuesday.

“In light of the hazardous air quality, precipitated by the wildfires in Canada, the Council’s leadership has decided that the health and well-being of -s needs to be prioritized and they do not want -s traveling unless absolutely necessary,” a statement from the City said.
