New parking rates at Lambertville street meters will go into effect beginning on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022. The Lambertville City Council adopted the new parking rates at the Aug. 18 meeting.
Rates will increase to $0.30 for a period of 10 minutes, $0.90 for a period of 30 minutes, and $1.50 per hour in all of the parking meter zones throughout the city. Parking meters can be paid with coins (nickels, dimes, and quarters) or through the ParkMobile app (http://us.parkmobile.com/), which will display the updated rates starting Friday.
According to the city, the rate increase is “in response to the rising costs of parking-related services and the necessary maintenance of the parking meters and related equipment. The new parking rates are comparable to those of other local municipalities.”
In addition to metered parking on city streets, municipal metered lots are available at the following locations:
- Lambertville Free Public Library on Lilly Street
- Wells Fargo Banking Center at the intersection of Bridge and South Union streets,
- North Union Street Lot on North Union between Bridge and Church streets
- Philip L. Pittore Justice Center on South Union Street between Ferry and Swan streets
The daily contractor rate will still be available for $12 per day for contractors regularly engaged in the maintenance field or vehicles involved for moving household goods. This rate is not available through ParkMobile – contractors may purchase a sign to be secured to the meter allowing them to park in a metered space for that day.
Current restricted parking hours and time limits remain unchanged. The meter rate increase also has no effect on the pricing of residential parking permits for residents who have parking meters in front of their homes.
