The Princeton men’s basketball team’s schedule has plenty of local flavor as well as a trip abroad.
Coach Mitch Henderson’s defending Ivy League champion Tigers tip off the 2022-23 campaign on Nov. 7 against Hofstra at Jadwin Gymnasium. That is followed by five games away from home that takes them to Annapolis, Md. (Navy), Baltimore (UMBC), Poughkeepsie, N.Y. (Marist), and finally to London for two contests (vs. Army and vs. Manhattan or Northeastern) in the London Basketball Classic.
Those games in London will serve as a Homecoming of sorts for reigning Ivy League Player of the Year Tosan Evbuomwan, who is from Newcastle in the country’s Northeast.
The remaining non-conference schedule features matchups with local interest. Princeton travels to Drexel and then hosts Lafayette and Monmouth before a neutral site game against Rick Pitino’s Iona at Kean University in Union. The non-league slate finishes up with home games against Delaware and Kean.

“Our schedule this year is challenging as we have mixed in some terrific local opponents, including Monmouth, Delaware, Lafayette, FDU and Hofstra, as well as some incredible experiences for our group in the Veterans Classic at Navy and the London Basketball Classic at the Olympic Stadium in London,” Henderson said. “We have always looked to challenge our group in the non-conference so that they are best prepared for the league come 2023 and this year accomplishes that.”
The defense of the Ivy title starts on New Year’s Eve when Harvard visits Old Nassau. Princeton then hits the road for four straight — at Cornell, Columbia, Brown and Penn — before it finishes with six of its final nine league games at home, including the regular-season finale against Penn on March 4.
Princeton is also hosting the Ivy League Tournament this year from March 10-12.
