Fresh off of their historic seasons this past winter, the Princeton University basketball teams will be celebrated at the Somerset Patriots’ upcoming June 14 game at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater.
Men’s head coach Mitch Henderson and women’s head coach Carla Berube will throw out ceremonial first pitches prior to the start of the game against the Altoona Curve at 6:35 p.m.

Henderson, who has been at the helm for 11 seasons, guided the Tigers to their first NCAA Tournament win since 1998 and then their first Sweet 16 appearance since 1967. Princeton became just the fourth No. 15 seed to reach the Sweet 16, doing so by knocking off a pair of top-25 teams in Arizona and Missouri.
While also winning the Ivy League Tournament for the second time in five seasons, Henderson surpassed 200 career victories and became just the eighth men’s coach to tally 100 Ivy League victories.
Berube, meanwhile, has led the Princeton women to two straight second-round appearances in the NCAA Tournament. No other Ivy League program — men’s or women’s — has done that since 2014.
Berube has posted a 75-12 overall record and a 40-2 record in Ivy League games, including three Ivy League titles, across her three seasons.
Both of the program’s recent NCAA wins were upsets: Princeton knocked off No. 6 Kentucky as a No. 11 seed in 2022, and then it took down No. 7 NC State as a No. 10 seed this past season. The Tigers had only one NCAA win in their history prior to that.
Henderson and Berube will both go on the air for an inning with Patriots play-by-play broadcaster Steven Cusumano. Fans can listen live via 93.5 FM and 1450 AM.
