The New York Giants are waiting to see how this year is going to go with quarterback Daniel Jones.

Jones is currently in the final season of a four-year contract and the Giants declined to pick up their fifth-year option on the QB, meaning he is set to be a free agent in 2023, unless New York slaps him with the franchise tag.

Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen may want to go in a different direction to find a long-term guy. If that’s the case, Tiki Barber has an idea of who they should sign.

Here what the former Giants running back pitched on the Tiki & Tierney show, via WFAN:

“There are certain things that are real, facts, and one is the Giants will have upwards of $80 million in cap space next year, so they could essentially do whatever they want. And, there’s one guy who’s trying to get a big deal and is a stud…name is Lamar Jackson … He wants the Deshaun Watson deal; he wants almost all guaranteed money, which the Ravens weren’t willing to give him, but I think the Giants would get close to doing that,”

According to ESPN, Jackson turned down a five-year extension offer from the Baltimore Ravens worth over $250 million with $133 million guaranteed at signing. However, Jackson was looking for a deal that reflected Watson’s with the Cleveland Browns and was looking for a deal fully guaranteed at signing.
