LAWRENCE – Lawrence police arrested two teens over the weekend after they were spotted allegedly breaking and entering into cars in the Society Hill South neighborhood.
Omari Cartwright, 18, of Trenton and a 17-year-old juvenile were arrested around 3 a.m. Saturday morning after the police saw the duo walking near Wittenborn Drive wearing dark clothing and face coverings.
Officers kept watch on the two, and noticed a bunch of cars in the area that appeared to have been broken into, including at least one with a shattered window.
Two officers approached Cartwright and the juvenile, and were identified as having shattered a window on Sherman Place right before the officers approached them. During the arrest, Cartwright provided a false name and was found to be in possession of a Glock handgun and a high capacity magazine.
Cartwright is facing several chargers, including burglary, criminal mischief, and weapons charges, police said. The juvenile was released but was charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
