A 21-year-old man wanted in a quadruple homicide in Aurora, arrived in Colorado over the weekend after he was arrested in Mexico and extradited to Phoenix at the end of last year.
The suspect, Joseph Castorena, was in the Arapahoe County Detention Facility Monday morning, according to a tweet from the sheriff’s department.

Castorena was arrested in December in the north-central Mexican state of Aguascalientes, suspected in the October 2022 shooting of four people at a home near East 10th Avenue and Geneva Street during an incident that police characterized as the culmination of “an ongoing domestic situation.”
Three men and one woman, all adults, were killed. Police rescued an unharmed woman and two “very young” children from the home.
The victims were Jesus Serrano, 51; Maria Anita Serrano, 22; Kenneth Eugene Green Luque, 20; and 49-year-old Rudolfo Salgado Perez.
Police also have arrested Carlos Casillas-Flores, 22, Castorena’s cousin, and Juan Angel Castorena, 18, the suspect’s brother, in the case. They’re facing charges of accessory after the fact. Police have said they don’t have evidence that those two played a direct role in the killings.
