Rain is falling Thursday afternoon in the Cameron Peak burn area where a flash flood warning is posted through 4:15 p.m.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected along the northern Front Range and foothills and the Cameron Peak wildfire burn area has a high chance for flash floods this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Impacted areas include the Retreat, Crystal Mountain and Storm Mountain.
Skies will be mostly cloudy and thereβs a 70% chance for precipitation in the area. Heavy rain hit the area at about 1 p.m., with 0.5 inches of rainfall in a 30-minute span.
